GCCI Fosters ESG Dialogue

The Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry, or GCCI, fostered extensive ESG dialogue between the industry, the policymakers, and the sustainability leaders.

GCCI’s recently concluded Gujarat Sustainability Summit 2025 attracted over 30 national and international speakers to discuss global best practices and highlight the global relevance of sustainability.

The summit discussed key topics such as sustainable Gujarat, global sustainability scenarios, profitable sustainability, future-ready MSMEs, and green policy and finance in India.

Sandeep Engineer, President, GCCI, emphasized the summit’s role in shaping a sustainable future, emphasizing ESG as a global imperative and the need for Indian companies to align with evolving standards to remain competitive in international supply chains.

He outlined the creation of a dedicated ESG task force to streamline compliance for MSMEs, emphasizing the importance of proactive ESG adoption in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Panchamrit initiative.

Jaxay Shah, Chairperson, the Quality Council of India (QCI), highlighted Gujarat’s industrial leadership at the Viksit Bharat 2047 summit, highlighting its role in sustainable industrial growth.

During his keynote, he introduced the PRIDE framework, a strategic roadmap for India’s sustainable industrial future, focusing on preserving & protecting, reducing carbon, impacting & innovating, dominating through diligence, and evolving ecosystems.

Sameer Sinha, Managing Director, SAVVY Group, spoke about the importance of collective action for sustainability goals, urging active participation from businesses, policymakers, academia, and civil society.

Over 20 institutions, including IIT-Gandhinagar, the Centre for Sustainability and Corporate Governance Research, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, and Adani University, and leading corporations participated in the event.
