India’s NITI Aayog, Ministry of Power, and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy have launched the ASSET platform to accelerate India’s green energy transition.
The platform will assist states in creating energy transition blueprints, project implementation, and fostering innovation in emerging technologies.
Key steps for green transition include blueprint preparation, project development, and fostering innovation in battery energy storage systems, green hydrogen, and offshore wind.
The ASSET platform will showcase upcoming technologies and best practices, promoting energy efficiency and e-mobility.
The initiative also includes a Rs 200 crore pilot scheme to promote green hydrogen production and usage in decentralized applications like cooking, heating, and off-grid power.
The government is keen on supporting innovative technologies, including floating solar-based hydrogen production, biomass-derived hydrogen, and wastewater-generated hydrogen.
This initiative aligns state initiatives with national aspirations and drives long-term energy solutions.
This could prove groundbreaking for communities in remote areas, potentially providing them with cleaner, sustainable energy solutions.
